Before and After School Programs

The Cedar Wood Elementary PTA helps to organize several after school enrichment programs for our students. They are offered on a first come, first served basis and are divided into two groups by coordinators. Please take a look at the below information for more details.

Winter 2017 Programs

PLEASE NOTE: These are private programs organized by our PTA. Sign ups and payments are done directly through each company providing the activity. The school or PTA cannot sign you up or take payments.


Introducing the Columbia Athletic Clubs Tennis Program • $82.73
Silver Lake Junior Tennis offers tennis and skills for life along with play based learning. Routines include; Sportsmanship, and Communication lessons, Athletic Enhancement, Fancy Footwork, Racket Skills, Learning the “ART of the RALLY”, Scoring and of course Tennis FUNdamentals.

3:30 – 4:45 pm in the Gymnasium
5 classes: January 8, 22 & February 5, 12 & 26

Bricks for Kidz • $90
This is a hands-on class where students will design and build machines, catapults, pyramids, derby cars, buildings and other constructions out of LEGO® bricks. While exploring engineering, architecture and physics, students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. The theme for this session is Space Invaders.

Art Wizards • $130
Learn to see. To look and think ahead and create really beautiful artwork. Learn to use different mediums such as chalk and oil pastels, watercolors, pencils and markers.

10 Tuesdays begin January 9th

Robot U • $200

Students will be partnered up into two person teams to build and program incredible LEGO® MINDSTORMS  EV3 robots.

Chess Club • $150
Improve your problem-solving skills, your memory, think and plan ahead. Learn chess tactics, solve chess puzzles, play competitive and just-for-fun games! Workbooks and teaching materials are provided, just come ready to learn!
