The Whale Walk

Giving today can make a world of difference for our students. Help us meet our goal!

The PTA supports the Cedar Wood community in all sorts of ways—from funding enrichment programs, to providing resources and grants to teachers and staff, to providing supplies to the school. Your generous support makes it all possible!

What is the Whale Walk?

The Whale Walk is our PTA’s primary all-school fun-run fundraiser. We don’t sell products or count laps—students collect donations in the weeks before the event and earn prizes

Cedar Wood celebrates Spirit Week in the days leading up to the Whale Walk. Each day has a fun theme, and the classroom with the highest participation will earn a classroom party of their choosing! See the Spirit Week themes here.

All students participate in the Whale Walk during their lunch recess. PTA volunteers set up fun games and mini-obstacle courses around the Cedar Wood track, so students can run, skip, jump, walk, dance, and play during the event, all while listening to music. We even have bubbles and our friendly mascot Finn on hand to cheer them on! After 15 minutes of fun, students can cool down with water and a banana, and take a class photo with Finn. Everyone gets to have fun, regardless of donation amounts or ability!

This year’s event date will be announced soon!
